Torten, I'm having problems using the drivers. They run fine for a while, and then I get E: drive not ready and system hangs, etc. When it works, it works great. Keep up the development. Rick Dickens 72113,1602

I have had a similar experience. The drivers work for a while, and then stop working. Usually the machine thinks the CDROM is not ready. But I am looking forward to revised versions of the driver. The installation is very pretty.

I'm having a little trouble with the 5-3-93 version of LU005S.ADD under the 2/93* version of OS/2 2.1 Beta. My reading of your documentation left me unsure if the driver was intended to be used under the 2.1 Beta or was just not able to be installed under 2.1 Beta – I assumed it would work under the 2.1 Beta and tried it. It does work, even the audio part <Neat!>, but after (say) 5 to 10 minutes of use it locks up the system and halts. I have not applied the known patches in the Beta forum to my installation and I plan to do so in the next day or so – but I thought I would ask now if there was some known reason for the hangs I am experiencing. Thanks.

Hi Rick, this bug is fixed. Look for "UPDAT1.ZIP" in LIB3. Bye, Torsten

Torsten, I know, and I'm happy to say that I'm listening to an audio CD while typing this message. I even installed OS/2 2.1 March Beta from the CD this morning. I had to modify the CONFIG.SYS on Disk 1 by deleting all the BASEDEV= lines specific to the already supported CD-ROM's, but once I did that, it worked GREAT! I have to tell you, I'm kinda pissed because I send $15 to Florida to another company with a driver that doesn't even support audio yet. Your driver is way ahead of theirs. I'm looking forward to replacing your polling driver your interrupt driven one. Also, I'm hoping you'll soon support multimedia so I can use the MMPM/2 audio CD Player, and the WIN-OS/2 Media player. They currently do not work with your driver, and your play.exe does not skip tracks or pause properly yet. Not a big problem because I usually just listen to a CD start to finish while doing other things. Keep up the EXCELLENT work and keep me posted for future releases. Appreciatively, Rick Dickens
