David, those polar bear clubs are pretty much international – I remember one in London. The most sensational one is the Ecuadorian one where members jump into the frigid waters of the Pacific in the middle of summer, NOT! Seriously, though, I don't think that's such an achievement as long as you get out within 30 seconds or so, no permanent damage should occurr.

Actually, I don't think anyone here in Milwookie has incurred damage from polar bear-ing. They all get out pretty fast and I'm not as aghast as I make out (for entertainment porpoises). I've done something similar (but not as extreme) running from 45 minutes in saunas and hot tubs to plunge into cold tubs and/or cold swimming pools. Feels good. Of course these people are not pre-heated. They drove there, freezing their body parts off, THEN jumped in. Sheesh! I'll huddle over my hot 486 chip like a cave person, thank you.

David, I've heard that recently removed 66mhz Pentium chips will make great pocket and hand warmers (or maybe firestarters too) <g>. Just warm them in your PC's for an hour or so, remove them and quickly wrap them in a soft cloth. One in each pocket works a treat and I think they work underwater too, for long distance swimmers <G>.

I read the same article about 486/66's and Eskimo hand treatments. Did you also see the one where it sez that if you rotate the chip 180 degrees and reinsert it it becomes a clock-tripled 486/99? DT

You're in Milwaukee? Syndesis is in Jefferson, five miles south of the Gobbler exit on I-94 towards Madison. I grew up on the East side and in Oconomowoc… I've been meaning to make it to Roger's 3D Studio user group, do you attend?

Yeah. I'm the guy what lives a few doors down the street from your former residence. I do attend Roger's user group meetings. They have been fun, if a mite undirected. I've been a little reluctant to just start throwing out questions, as inexperienced as I am. I'd feel like I'm just pumping him for info. There have been accomplished ACAD users there, off and on, but I think Roger's the big kahuna, when it comes to 3DS. It would be great to have your technical insights (and another 'beer repository')! I drove by your turnoff just the other night! Gosh! Wutta small cosmos! Never ceases to demaze me! Hope to see U at the next meeting……. DT
