#Pregnant Mouse
14 messages in this thread
I just got a C= 3-button mouse to replace my ailing old stock rodent on
the 2000. It's really nice and I like it a lot better but…
What can use the 3rd button?
How come the pointer 'jumps' occasionally? I've seen it do it even w/o my
hand on the mouse. I'm assuming it's the new mouse since I've never seen
this before.

Don,
I don't know what's happening on your system. I use a 3 button Boing
Optical Mouse without any problems (A3000/25).
The only thing I've found the middle mouse button good for was using a
commodity like MMB that makes the button act like any single key (ie:
shift, alt, ctl) so that you can SHIFT-click without going to the
keyboard. MMB was conflicting with something else I was using, (don't
remember what now) so I dumped it.
I use a program called switcher, for my 3rd button. It brings up a small
menu and lets you switch windows, screens, and launch programs.
Takes the place of A A N/M.

I meant to address this to all.
See, it was late … um, I was adding to the address book … sigh
mumble mumble
Anyway, I like this critter a lot better than the ones I've been using for
years.
Thanks,

Michael,
Try getting switcher 1.03 by Khalid Aldoseri (who else!) it allows the
middle mouse button to select screens, launch programs ext. It is worth
buying a 3 button mouse just for it! This program is the only one I have
found that actually makes the middle button useful.
Well, that's two votes for switcher… guess I'll try it. I've been
hearing folks here rave about it for some time.
Thanks.
If you have a 3 button mouse then switcher is a must have, It is
extremely useful for all those programs that put up screens with no
f/b gadgets and you don't have to move your hand from the mouse to
the keyboard. It takes a while to break the habit of reaching for
lA,m but then it also lets you chose which screen to goto. Also
handy for those pic viewers that take any keyboard input to close the
screen but you need to go back and look at something else without
having to reload picture again. Small overhead and it has the
quality of a Khalid Aldoseri program!
Well I us switcher aswell and I have Version 1.10

Worth buying a 3 button mouse???? Why buy one when all you have to
do is cut a hole in the mouse and stick one in?? I did it to my
Commodore mouse and use it along side a trackball. So far I've been
using software that just emulates the shift key and installs the
second mouse… but this switcher sounds much better!

Michael,
I use the middle mouse button for Khalid's Switcher program. Switcher is
one of those indispensable utilities for me.

Guess it's time to check out Switcher!
Opus uses MMB.
