Ron, I did not use the S-Video output but I have been told that the VIP works fine on S-Video. My address is: 88 Harlow Circle Lower Gwynedd, PA 19002 Don't worry about postage! Let me know if you would like it. Rich

If anybody else has a VIP for sale, please tell me! I'm fed up with these Supergen/Firecracker24 compatibility problems. Give me a simple video encoder that doesn't care how intimate my 3000 and FC24 are! Anyone? Blaq!

Aww gee, I have one but I'm not sure I want to sell it. It truly only makes a so-so picture. Mine was personally tweaked by the designer of the FC24 and so works better than the average VIP. I also have a short cable as plugging the VIP directly into the back of my 3000 is not possible. Is the VIP out of production? Mark, as far as I know, yes, the VIP encoder is discontinued. I'm sorry to learn of its mediocre picture quality; I have a FC-24, I'd like to be able to get a decent video signal out of it! Is there any other affordable video encoder out there? Hmmm. Time to move this to AmigaArts, methinks. Blaq!

I don't think you would be satisfied with the output of the VIP. It is definitely not broadcast quality. There are other good encoders out there. Goin' AP …..Mark Sterling

Welllll, they aren't cheap. Panasonic has decent one for about 1k but I don't know the model. What will you be recording to? Do you need composite, s-video, Y-C or what? Most units made for the Amiga are genlocks as well. The external Supergen should work. I assume you have the internal model which seems to be famous for its quirks. It seems to hate the 3000/FC24 combo. I'm not a real pro on what encoder to buy. Goin' AP …..Mark Sterling
