Does anyone know if there is an easy way to import a multiple point mesh into 3D studio? I have some 3D data files of gemstones which list the locations of the points and faces. However the many of the faces have four or five or more points. 3D studio normally accepts a point-face list in a triangular mesh format. Is there an easy way for 3D Studio to accept more than 3D points for a face?

Tom: The 3D face command will do what you need. Evan

Evan, What is the 3D face command? Tom

I believe what Evan was referring to was the 3DFACE command in AutoCAD. Using ACAD you could bring in your file, and create faces or surfaces that have the number of vertex points you require (actually, they may be one surface made up of several faces butted together to form one whole, but the effect would be the same). What program are you using and how are you getting the data into 3DS? There may be other options as well.
