I am using DOS 5. in a 386 33 with 8 megs/ files=40/buffers=40. I use
PCPADI and PCPTARGP . Having a targer 16 board. I render to the
targer board in live video mode. I go between 3d and keyframer. After
rendering a few times, say ten or so, I get { can't find PCPADI type
path then enter}. I try this and get too many files open error in the
rendering menu screen. I then will try to save the file, but the same
error. So I reboot…
it might be posible that you don't have enough room for environment
variables in your config.sys. Be sure to have the following line as
the first in your config.sys: shell=c:\dos\command.com /p /e:1024
wich will allow 1024 bytes as environment for dos and uses command.com
as permanent command interpreter. The default setting is 160 bytes,
wich is probably too low, for the pharlap dos extender in 3DS is
kicking out sometimes other variables.
