Donald,
I believe the Sound Blaster Pro board has a built in interface for the
Matsushita (Panasonic) CD-ROM drive. This is the only drive you can purchase
if you want to use the built in interface. Otherwise, any good CD-ROM drive
will work from the point of interfacing with the sound function, and
considering the quality of the Matsushita drive, you may wish to purchase
something better like the Sony.

Les
Thanks for your response. Do you know of any specific porblems with the
Panasonic? I go another response to my msg, and that person has been using the
Matsushita for about a year without any problems. My problem is that I have no
more available expansion slots so I want to use the SBPro interface. But then
again, I don't want to waste my money either.
Maybe I'll just wait awhile and see if I can get more info.
Thanks again for thie info.
