Donald, I believe the Sound Blaster Pro board has a built in interface for the Matsushita (Panasonic) CD-ROM drive. This is the only drive you can purchase if you want to use the built in interface. Otherwise, any good CD-ROM drive will work from the point of interfacing with the sound function, and considering the quality of the Matsushita drive, you may wish to purchase something better like the Sony. Thanks for your response. Do you know of any specific porblems with the Panasonic? I go another response to my msg, and that person has been using the Matsushita for about a year without any problems. My problem is that I have no more available expansion slots so I want to use the SBPro interface. But then again, I don't want to waste my money either. Maybe I'll just wait awhile and see if I can get more info. Thanks again for thie info. Don
