Hi, I just recently acquired a Mitsumi LU-005 CD-ROM drive, and even though I've had no problems at all installing it , I am trying to free up some of my conventional memory. At the moment I have 599K free running under DOS 5.0 with QEMM but I'd like to see if I can tweak that up a bit.I have managed to load high the MSCDEX.EXE file in my AUTOEXEC.BAT but I've been having some problems loading high the MTMCDE.SYS device driver in my CONFIG.SYS, any help/advice on this matter would be great. Regards… D.Cross

Dalon — You need the 3/93 version of MTMCDE in order to loadhi with QEMM. The driver is available on the Quarterdeck forum — or may be available here too, I'm not sure. Note that there MAY be some problems with graphics with the new version of MTMCDE loaded high using QEMM — there do not appear to be any such problems if you load high using himem.sys — and if you have DOS 6, you may be able to come out with about the same amound of free memory. I have used QEMM for several years, but dropped it in favor of the DOS 6 approach due to the problems with MTMCDE. Craig

Craig, Thanks for the info, now that you mention 6.0 I am considering getting it myself tomorrow. Dalon
