Anyone have any information on the HP LaserJet 4L. I just saw a couple ads for it last night. List price is $849. If it is as good as the LaserJets that is a good price. If it is a 600 dpi printer like the LaserJet 4, then it is a great price. -Jerry

Jerry, The LJ 4L maxes out at 300 dpi, not 600 dpi. But it uses a finer toner, so it should give much nicer output when printing pictures then most other 300 dpi lasers. For more information on the 4L, GO HPPERIPHER, and download LJ4L.ANN (library 4). This is HP's announcement on the printer. Sounds like a neat little printer with the auto turn on feature. Yes, there is no power switch on the printer – just send it data and it turns on and starts printing. Uses an different heating method for the toner to enable it to start up so fast. After 15 minutes of not printing, the printer shuts itself off. From the ad on TV, it definitely is a small printer. 73, Kelly

Thanks to all who responded. Someone pointed me to a "Test Drive" article in the June PC World. Slick little printer. Not the best one for my particular needs, however. -Jerry
