#modem advice

I am new to the networks and using a PC to access the Amiga forums.
Would appreciate advice on modems? Does any internal modem card
exist for the Amiga? If not, are there other modem manufacturers
besides Supra who supply modems for the machine? My needs are
modest. 2400 baud will do for now.
I'm not familiar with internal modems for the Amiga, but I know they
exist. Hopefully someone with an internal modem can jump in and let them
know what they use.
I've hooked up a kinds of different modems to various Amigas. Everything
from a Novation CAT acoustical coupler to the Supra FAX modem I have now.

There is an internal Supra card for the Amiga 2000 (you didn't mention
what model amiga this is for). It works but seems to give some people some
problems mostly related to the custom software driver. Almost any
Hayes-compatible external modem can be used on the Amigas, you can grab a
2400 pretty cheap from Walmart if you are sure that is enough to do you.

There is in fact an internal modem for the Amiga. It's made by Supra Corp.
I've used one, and it works fairly well. It's only 2400 baud, and I don't
know if they ever made one that had MNP error correction & compression on
it, as I've since gone to using an external v.32bis modem, and no longer
use my internal modem (it's not even in the machine).

Yes, there are a few companies who make internal modems for the Amiga.
However, any standard external modem will work with the Amiga. The modem
may not come with Amiga terminal software, but the modem will work just
fine if you get an Amiga terminal program.
