I have a hopefully simple audio problem. I recently added pro S-VHS video decks (Panasonic AG 7750) to my animation studio at home. I would like to be able to dump audio from my nice stereo to the deck, but it only has XLR balanced inputs and mic inputs. I know I can input with a mic mixer through the mic port but I hate having this jury rigged stuff hanging out the front of the deck. Does anyone have a schematic for what needs to be done to convert from a line level unbalanced output (RCA Jack) to one of these XLR balanced inputs? I hate to spend tons of money on a mixer just so I can add simple background music to my animations.

Andrew, I don't know how to solve your problem, as I am really green at this pro-video stuff. I hope someone else will be able to answer your question, though. Bailey

You should be able to pick up some kind of adapter that will take you from RCA or 1/4" to XLR in at almost any local pro music store, Andrew. We use 1/4" to XLR here in the studio and they work fine. Dave
