#OPTA Mona Lisa Drivers
7 messages in this thread
Hey, everyone. I just picked up an OPTA MonaLisa board for next to nothing.
It's a TIGA board with 4MB of VRAM. Problem is, OPTA seems to be dead and I
have no drivers. Is anyone out there using this board? Please E-Mail me. Is
there anyone out there using ANY tiga board with 3DS and/or AAPro and/or
Windows? Please E-Mail me. I think any TIGA drivers should work, and since
OPTA is dead, there shouldn't be any legal hassles involved with distributing
drivers (there usually aren't anyway).
Todd,
you might try contacting one of these 3rd party drivers companies:
Panacea: (800)729-7420 or (603)437-5022
Vibrant: (800)937-1711 or (512)250-1711
Vermont: (800)354-0055 or (802)655-2860
They support a whole slew of cards.
You got what you paid for. I have this thing and I could never have it to work.
Yes, I have all the drivers but it won't make any difference as they simply
don't work. I will look around to see where I put the drivers and I let you
know.
Gus,
Vibrant may support the Mona Lisa.

That's a good point. I didn't think about it (more often than the other way
around). I don't use ACAD nor 3DS in the machine I have the Mona Lisa so I
never bothered looking at Vibrant or Panacea for help.
B.T.W. I've found the Vista stuff I was looking for. I still have to go back to
the Truevision forum and thank Jerry Thompson for the __humongous__ fax he sent
me with "everything you always wanted to know about the ATVista but never cared
to ask and now you're cursed for the rest of your life 'cause you did it".

You can download the TRBDEM.EXE file to run on the Mona Lisa board. I tested
the driver with the board about four or five months ago and it worked fine
then. Just make sure that the DLDEXT.RLM file gets put into the directory that
your TIGA environment variable is set to.

Todd,
The MonaLisa shipped with Vibrant drivers and I'd assume that Vibrant could
probably supply you with new ones. The board is a bit flakey, but when it
runs, its a great card. I had two customers, in the same office, with the same
computer and config. One had no problems, the other lots. If you luck out and
get a good one, you should have a lot of fun.
