Hi, Billy.
3DS dosen't _need_ expanded memory! In fact, I run it with _no_ memory
manager at all with excellent results. Using QEMM helps when you need
expanded memory for other programs or if you need to direct TSRs, device
drivers, etc. to specific memory segments. I always have my clients start
with a totally clean configuration, get 3DS working, and go from there. All
you need to know is in the Installation & Performance guide — honest!

Me too, on some machines I can get away with this (Like the Gateways) but
the Compaqs REQUIRE it if you have more than 16 megs of memory. I'm sure
Compaq is not alone in this area but in this day and age it surprises me
that this particular memory problem continues.

Agreed…At least we can usually find work-arounds fairly easily. I use a
different configuration for almost every application — Just run a
re-config/reboot batch file — takes a very little time and guarantees a
optimum configuration for the particular program I need at the time.
BTW, nice work up there at ADesk! Your "Clouds" upload was a big hit down
here. Keep up the good work!
