I have an old Hitachi TCDR 6000 CD-ROM drive, which was purchased back
in 1990. It came with an MCA adapter card for use in a PS/2, but now
I want to find a card for an ISA bus which will work with this thing.
Does anyone know if the driver for this unit is specific for the MCA
bus or if I can use it with another, ISA card? Also, will a generic
SCSI ISA card work with this drive?
The Todd drive you have uses the CDR3600 drive. There was a HitachiB.Sys
driver for the MC card. The HitachiA,Sys driver is for ISA/pc bus. Use the
ohter driver if you have it. If not, Hitachi disk CDREXT4D contains both
drivers, about $35 list. Hitachi referral line 800-H I T A C H I
Bill, thank you for the info. I have the drive up and running. Too bad it's
not MPC compatible – I think it's the driver that's the problem.
Gerald, Todd is still around, and can sell you either a MCA or an ISA card… I
bought both from them just a couple months ago. Let me know if you need a
phone number….

Ray, thanks for the reply. I got an ISA card through the drive vendor after
reading my other reply – they gave me a real deal since we have done business
with them in the past. Thanks for the offer, though.
