Stupid question time. We haven't looked into CD production in a year.
What is the going rate for mastering a dual format disk, and per unit
costs for say 1000 units?
Mike:
I think still a "make your best deal" kind of a thing, but a master
will probably cost $1200-1500 and something between $1.50-$2.50 per
disc. the cost of preparing the dual format is in the premastering
and that will vary with the kind of data, real requirements and so
on.
If you are looking for a list of mastering houses, check the file called
MFG.TXT in Library #8 her in the Forum.
Hope this helps – Rich Bowers
Rich,
See if you can get the new CDVEN into what's new on CIS too. I just read about
3 new forums this morning under what's NEW on CIS.
Albert:
It will be there, when we're ready for it. Thanks for the suggestion!
Best – Rich
Thanks for the info Rich. The prices seem the same as before. I'll grab that
file and check it out.
Cheers, Michael @ Soft-Logik Publishing Corp.
I'm working on a CD for the Amiga-Mac-PC, too. I know I've met other people
from Soft-Logik before, but not you, so let me introduce myself and my company.
Syndesis makes InterChange Plus for the Amiga, a system of translators for 3D
file formats like LightWave, DXF, Wavefront, etc. We're working on a CDROM
called the "Syndesis 3D-ROM". It's a collection of more than 500 public domain
3D models we've converted to several formats.
Talk to Katherine Cochrane 71216,1271. She runs a one-off shop and quoted
about $250 for a one-off, then $1300 or so for 100 discs.
If you'd like to talk about Amiga CD production, I'd love to talk to you!
There's another opportunity brewing, too. Syndesis makes the built-in
translators for the Video Toaster. We're contemplating adding an Adobe
Illustrator loader for people who need a better way to load logos, etc. into
the Toaster for rendering in LightWave. I'd like to talk about Art Expression,
too.
