I'm looking for a very inexpensive SCSI hard drive controller to use in my
A2000 with a 50Mb drive. I've been looking at the A2091 which I've seen
available for about $40. Then I see a 2090A for nearly $20.
I'm hoping someone can explain to me the differences between these two
controllers? I'd very much appreciate any info I can gather.
Brian,
The A2090a supports both MFM and SCSI drives, but it doesn't fully
support the SCSI_DIRECT specification. It also doesn't properly handle
DMA transfers from SCSI devices thus it's slower than the A2091.
It also predates the A2091.
Unless you have an MFM type drive, I'd suggest you go for the 2091.
