3D Furniture

Do you know if American Standard's library is actually 3D-type entities in DXF,
or more like line drawings?
I've heard that Anderson Windows has an AutoCAD-compatible clip library, too.
I'd love to add these collections to the next edition of the Syndesis 3D-ROM if
they are truly 3D.
John,
You may have a problem with both of these as they are commercial programs.
American Standard sells their block library to everybody (including
architects….<dumb>) and even though Andersen gives their programs to the
building community, they are still copyrighted.
Best thing is to contact them directly if you wish to pursue this.
Pella WIndows has complete libraries of Windows product clips. They distribute
it with their Acad add-in product. They might want to be included on your
CD-ROM. Do you want a contact there?
Sure, I'd appreciate it. I'd love to find contacts at all these companies that
distribute their product in 3D formats. You meant "windows" not "Windows"
right? Are these Pella clips true 3D or just polylines for AutoCAD?
I am not sure of their format. It is part of a package that they give away to
distributors. The guy I know there is Jerry Lockridge at (515) 628-6433. He is
in their software group and can probably put you in touch with the right
people.
Hi there John.
I need to ask you, what is the Syndesis 3D-ROM? Does it have 3D furniture? And
if so, how can I get one?
Thanks in advance.
Alex K.
Actually, there's not much furniture – a few tables, a toilet, a picnic bench.
The Syndesis 3D-ROM is a CDROM containing more than 500 3D models, all
converted to DXF, 3DS, Wavefront, LightWave and Imagine formats. It also
contains more than 400 wrappable, tileable textures. Watch the libraries – it
will be ready for shipment in a few weeks, and you can bet I'll upload some
samples and info files.
What is the price going to be? Can I place an advance order?
John,
How much is this planning to sell for and when will it be releaseed?

The package arrived last night. It appears that they are more like line
drawings, but I haven't had a chance to play with them yet. Will update as I
get to it. LAM
