#CDROM Towers

Does anyone have any experience with CD ROM towers. We are looking
for some to put on a network for 6 floors of lawyers to do research.
We understand a 14 drive tower is made by Meridian and CBIS, and
perhaps also On Line. Does anyone have experience with these mfrs?
With the products? With CD ROM on networks? Is there a network
software preferred (Our people listen to Unisys, who recommend
Novell). But mainly, how well do these towers work? Brian

Is this the new unit of measure for lawyers now: a coven of witches, a
cubic yard of fertilizer, a floor of lawyers? So this means you've
got yourself a six-pack there, huh? Probably it takes 4 6-packs to
make a case?

I would suspect the 14 drive CD-ROM towers would require two SCSI adapters
since each adapter can only talk to 7 drives. There is no reason why multiple
CD-ROMs would be a problem. My company recently bundled 4 CD-ROMs into a case
and are in the process of getting them to market.
Now all you need is some good networking software for them. I'm sure others
have better recommendations. I've only used CorelSCSI which works with four
drives at least. We don't have that many CD-ROM drives to test with.
