Can anyone tell if it is possible to get a multisync monitor to work with the
Video Toaster. I am using a Nec 3D which works perfectly until the VT starts
up, then it goes bonkers! I've tried everything I can think of but no luck.
All works well with a 1084 attached instead of the Nec. Any help would be
appreciated. Doug
What kind of Amiga? Does the NEC accept 15khz scan rate?
Yes, the 3D scans down to 15khz. This is an A4000 and the monitor works fine
with fine with workbench, Opalvision, etc- just not with a toaster. Doug

Check your monitor for an interlace switch, when the 4000 sees a video device
(genlock or toaster) it forces the rgb into "interlace" mode. This could
explain your "bonkers" monitor even when it rescans at 15khz. There have been
plenty of moans and groans from some folks in my neck of the woods regarding
the "un-flicker-fixer" 4000 Toasters.

Is the cable you're using on the 3D much longer than the one for the C=
monitor? I spent 2 hours with NewTek one day before the VT was oficially
released, had everything on my A2500 torn apart, just to find that the 3'
extension on my video line to the 1080 monitor was goofing things up. I
know the Toaster is sensitive to what gets plugged in the video port, but
I didn't think that it affected the Amiga output, just the Toaster's.
BTW, anybody know a way to extend the video line on a 2500/Toaster? Tried
what the book said, but didn't help.

Most NEC monitors will work if you have a flicker fixer of some type.
What's happening when you start the Toaster exactly? That will tell me
what is wrong. Also, how is the NEC hooked up to the Amiga?

I have not tried it but you don't still have the de-interlacer on do you?
Also, it just might be necessary for the Toaster itself to have the
monitor plugged into the 23 pin connector rather than the 15.
