Brian, I'm all confused! I'm just a beginner in this new multimedia (and
computer)
world and basically I'm looking at a cd-rom drive for very simple uses,
ie:encyclopedia, games and information. i've looked at some of those packages
just like the "discovery 8" from creative labs. is this okay for my needs or do
you suggest something else. thanks for your help.

Angelo, games are the most resource-hungry programs of all categories or
types. If you want to use a CD ROM for the latest state of the art games, which
include sound, motion video and animation, etc., you will simply have to buy
the best.
