I'm eager to get a SCSI drive into my A590. I know there's a jumper inside
the device that I have to set but do I have to do anything with the DIPs
on the back of it?
If anyone can tell me what the DIPs are for, I'd appreciate it. I've never
seen any docs on the A590. Thanks!

The DIP switches are as follows:
1) Set to on to enable AutoBoot ROM (K.S. 1.3 and above).
2) LUN (logical unit number). If off then for SCSI drives
the system only looks for one logical unit at each
physical SCSI address.
Set switch to on if you have more than one SCSI device
hanging off your controller.
Some drives can appear as several drives to the hard
disk software apparentlly ,in which case set to off.
3) Time out lengh. If your SCSI drive takes more than 30
seconds to start up from cold set to on.
Setting to off gives a shorter time between start up
and the system first checking the drive. Parity checking
is also enabled. Check your drive supports it.
4) Reserved.
Set jumper JP3 to 2 for the SCSI led.

It's in, it's working, I'm VERY happy! I didn't have to use switches but
if you hadn't mentioned the LED jumper, I never would have noticed it.
