client who is interested in your new compression driver, a regional sales rep
for our book who needs to talk to you, and some REALLY JUICY gossip you might

Good to see you posting on the forum. The world should know your name and
revere it as one of the voices of our industry. Your latest book, "Guide to
CD-ROM" sits on my real desktop and gets borrowed often.
Congratulations are in order, I understand from my book publisher friend that
your book is now #4 on the national charts for computer applications. (Peter
Norton eat your heart out!)
It goes without saying that it is #1 in CD-ROM. This is just another
indication of the popularity of the media.(As well as a just reward for a well
authored title.)

the onliest person I recognized was that young whippersnapper Matt Seitz. It's
nice for Rich to offer a forum where we old-timers can stoke each others egos.
Yes, I KNOW it's Bob's account – I help pay for it, and I haven't had to get

I knew I was going to start getting ribbed about this. So tell me, oh wise and
powerful SYSOP, how does one transfer an account? I don't see any sense in both
of us having an account, and Bob just reads the messages – he's way too low-key
to participate. Can we have an account for Bob&Dana? How about Parker&Starrett?
Or can Bob just change the address flag to my name only? I'm beginning to have
some gender confusion myself.

The best place to start askingthis question is GO FEEDBACK which is a free
section sponsored by CIS for answering operational questions of this type.
Depending on your access method (CIM, TAPCIS, et al) I think there is a way to
identify yourself in general, and there is also a separate mechanism for
assigning nicknames to yourself in each Forum you visit, which programs like
Navigator do on a regular basis.

Dana, don't be bashful, give us details about your book. Post it over in
marketplace and send a library message so people can find out how to buy it and
what's in it. It is a fantastic book.

Ok, Roger, sir. Remember that my area of expertise is CD-ROM, not
telecommunications. And let's not forget that Bob is the co-author and deserves
full credit – it's just that they list authors alphabetically and that he's far
more modest than I am. Not to mention his generosity in letting me use his
account – I suppose I should get my own or tranfer his to my name, but when
you've worked together as long as we have, you learn to share things.
Let me know when you're back from San Francisco, I'll come visit.
