Impulse, I LOVE IM30 (sorry about yelling <g>). I am desiging an object and have come to the conclusion that my work would be made much easier by the addition of another aspect to magnetism. The point that I wish to drag using magnetism to not lend themselves to a circular pattern which cone, dome and bell are. It would be great and save me having to move each point if you could turn an object into a magnet and then use that object to drag points magnetically of another object. It does not seem like this would be that difficult. Just make a temporary object (or tool) in the detail editor (the user would make this 'tool' object) and then give it the same types of magnetic properties that you do in magnetism setup except for the shape and then as you drag this tool, the points of the object being affected that are within the 'influence' of the points of the tool move. Thanks for the ear and double thanks for the great product!!! Tony

> Soon we will have a complete SPLINE editor, you will love it. That would be great! You mean like spline modeling and the stuff?

Is there anyone out there that has received the Amiga version of Imagine 3.0? It seems that the loyal Amiga users are going to be the last to receive it? All the posts I see are from PC users.. 🙁 Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ

Jim It does seem that not all loyal Amiga users are on CIS, many have gotten it and I am sure that soon you will be in receipt of the software as well. The final bunch of them went out on Friday, so by Monday you should have yours as well. Mike

Peter, Got my 3.0 today! Na, na, na na na. . . 😉 BTW If you have not already done so check out FORGE.LHA. It's a description of Steve Worley's new program. EXCELLENT! I'm ordering mine Monday! …AutoPilot Engaged… -Paul-

Grrrr. Hulk SMASH!!! 😉 I've seen the press release for Forge. Looks VERY interesting. So how do you like 3.0????? I hope mine comes SOON! I'm going Crackers, espescially now that I'm trying to use IM R/T's MELT function in a Arexx script to make a Title look like its dripping blood. I can do it by hand but would rather not as it's pretty tedious. Hopefully Ben will have a workaround for me to somewhat automate things.

Peter, I have mixed emotions. There's a whole lot of neat new stuff, and I want to jump in and start playing, but it also represents a big homework assignment. There's a great deal of new stuff to learn! …AutoPilot Engaged… -Paul-

Well hopefully we'll enjoy 3.0. BTW as I'd hoped, Ben came thru with the MELT workaround

No Imagine 3.0 here in Brooklyn. I've got both versions coming. The Nixon Holiday probably slowed things a bit too tho. Heres hoping our packages arrive SOON.

Dave, The Spline editor is the first big improvement for the next release (3.5?). Apparently, it is needed for the Object Digitizer to work, but they won't actually start working on it for a few weeks, so it'll be a little while. If you don't have 3.0 yet, there is a new deform tool for doing free-form deformation type modelling that helps create freeform surfaces. -Steve

Mike, That is great news!! The type of magnet tool I mentioned would still be usefull, though, for editing objects I already have. Thanks, Tony

Tony, I like your suggestion. Have you tried the new deform tool? I only ask because its not really advertised (though it is documented), and is often confused with Deformations/Conformations. The deform tool is wonderous when it comes to altering the geometry of an object. -Steve

Steve, I think I dabled with it once. Thanks for the suggestion, it may do what I want. I will have to look at it again. Thanks, tony
