#ADPro – PAR script
13 messages in this thread
Is there a script (ARREX?)that will read a PAR animation in PAR format and
convert it into an Amiga (IFF) animation ot sequential frames
automaticaly? I can to it with ADPro 2.5 frame by frame, but this will
take forever.
I need to edit the animation frame by frame with the Brilliance animation
and paint program.

Why don't you just export the files with the PAR-software?

Well… I could export the frames. 191 frames in 24 bit would be close to
191 Megs of hard disk needed if not more, compared to 10.6 megs for the
PAR format animation.
I would still need to convert them to 256 color images, one frame at a
time, in ADPro. I thought that someone with arexx experience might have
come up with a script that could automate the process.

I have written a ARexx program that will do export a PAR anim, frame by
frame, and use it with LW, then save the new frame to another PAR Anim. I
had to do this since I have VERY limited system HD space (150 megs total)
and I needed a way to do this on a frame by frame basis.
It can easily be edited for use with other ARexx programs besides LW. This
is a early version (simple) of a script that I am ul'ing that has File
Requesters.

Thanks. I wish I could devote more time to playing with ARexx but I have
my hands full helping to fix my parents house and trying to do some 3D
stuff.

I wish I could find enough time to learn ARexx at all. It seems I get
started, then I don't get back for awhile, and I have to start all over
again.
Oh yeah, I have to have a "/*" at the beginning of the script, or it won't
run. <grin>
2 years and I'm still an Amiga novice. But I'm a Lightwave wiz! 🙂

Don't `wiz' on LightWave!!! Don't `wiz' on a electric fence either!

Thanks, I'll look for your upload. I guess I should look into arexx. If I
only had a way to cram 28 hours into a day…

You only need 28 hours a day? I would need about 48 hours a day with all
the stuff I am have to do. Unfortunately, 3D animation is only a small
part of it.

Ok, but I wasn't counting the time I sleep. 🙂
