I too will stay loyal to my A2000. Why should I change, when it does
everything I need (and more I'm sure). Maybe a boost in speed from 25 to
50Mhz. A peecee. No thanks. I have a 386 Bridgeboard and am still looking
for a REAL use for it. If worst comes to worst, I could put in an Emplant
or AMax as well, and be ready for almost anything for years to come.
IBM need the Amiga too. The Multimedia display at IBM's multimedia HQ is
run with an Amiga and SCALA!
I don't believe that software will dry up too fast.

I hope not. The thought of a technology based on an 8 year old platform,
that still exceeds many of today's "standards" is mind boggling. To think
that it may die, when it can only go up (God willing) is so sad.
On a PeeCee BBS I call, we got in to a "true" mulittasking discussion.
One user stated that he thought that Windows 3.1 was the standard for
today's multitasking. Just about the time I flamed on to frag his Intel
butt, I realized that he is actually correct. Depressing that we do it
best, but they still have the "standard", as lame as it may be.

yet..

You got into that conversation poorly equipped. Windows is not the
standard for multitasking; Microsoft themselves are very clear that 3.1
does not multitask satisfactorily and their efforts to make Windows more
Unix-like is a source of constant and widespread discussion in the peecee
press.
Unix is the standard.
