#DX4 100mhz CPU tested?
6 messages in this thread
Has anyone been trying out the 100 MHz DX4 CPU ? This week I'm hoping to do
some tests with one that will be installed in my system.. Currently I'm on a
486-50 with 16 megs of RAM, EISA motherboard and the ADAPTEC 1742 A EISA
Busmaster motherboard.. So upgrading to the DX4 might be a better jump than to
the DX2 66 mHz.. Any comments? suggestions on what 3ds files would give a good
test to see what time will be saved on rendering ? Bob Smith [Archi-Media

I didn't think that chip would be released until June! Where did you get
yours?

Hi Joseph, A company here is an ISO 9000 certified manufacturing facility ..
They carry a 90 Mhz pentium as well as the Intel DX4 100 Mhz chip… they also
have a converter for reducing the power since the DX4 takes around 3.3 volts
and my DX50 mHZ takes 5.5 volts.. the converter costs about 80 dollars I'm
told..
could you give me the name of the company or a phone number ? i need two dx4
chips and the converters. thanks sherwood
The tests mentioned in this forum show it to be about 50% faster than a 486-66
for rendering.
