I read somewhere that there's a student discount on 3D Studio. Is this true?
What is the discount?

In the latest issue of the CADence magazine you can find exact amount for
student version of 3D Studio. Unfortunately, it's only 3DS Release 2, not 3.
I think, you should ask Yost Group [76702,413] if they are going to come up
with "3D Studio 3 Lite" for $495 anytime soon. (If you are going to ask them,
post it on "WISHLIST" forum)

3. If you learn anything about getting the full package, could you pass the
info my way?

I got 3DStudio release 3 from a dealer. I have to furnish the proof that I'm
really in my case a teacher. For a student they ask to be full time student.
Some dealers have the autorisation to sell educational copy some don't ,just
ask Autodesk. The educational is the same as the regular issue. There is a
strong discount on price. It's worth going back to school !
