Reinforces Position of Strong Support in Market
Peterborough, NH (May 3, 1994) AmigaWorld, the independent, monthly consumer
publication for users of Amiga personal computers, has announced today that
recent events at Commodore Business Machines in no way affect AmigaWorld's
commitment to the market.
Responding to news on Friday, April 29, that Commodore was going out of
business, AmigaWorld Editor-in-Chief Daniel Sullivan stated, "Regardless of any
change in the status of Commodore's operations, AmigaWorld will continue to
provide coverage of the Amiga market for its readership. We believe there are
sound reasons to remain in the Amiga market — namely, an installed base of
five million Amiga computers worldwide; a dedicated AmigaWorld readership of
loyal, enthusiastic users; and an innovative, proactive group of third-party
developers."
Sullivan added, "We also feel certain that the technology will survive the
liquidation of Commodore through licensing agreements with interested third
parties — of which there appear to be many. This is an excellent opportunity
for the Amiga community to take charge of its own destiny and set a direction
for further development that Commodore has not been able to provide."
The AmigaWorld staff views this situation as an opportunity to provide an even
greater level of service to its readers and advertisers. With Commodore's
departure from the market, customer service will become an even greater
priority at AmigaWorld. The staff will continue to support everyone involved
in the market through such means as phone support and on-line feedback. By
providing strong customer service and up-to-date market coverage for readers,
AmigaWorld hopes to be the catalyst for future growth and development in the
Amiga community.

How's the weather in Seattle usually, let's say around the fourth week in
September.
I won a fabulous trip to Seattle and plan to stay at a fine hotel, check
out the sights and look up some old roots. (I mean OLD roots.)

Weather in Seattle is allways something you can sink your teeth in. Right
now its 70, this weekend it is suppose to be in the 80s.
September is a gamble…however, are Summers are usually Late July,
August, and September…So you may find some real nice weather.
Post me later…maybe we can go to the Blue Moon Tavern and have a beer.

Well, I guess you know this area pretty damn well! Since I've gotten back
from St. Martin (two days) I'm thinking the other side of the Cascades
would be a nice weekend trip! Of course it was 86 degrees in Seattle while
I was gone, it figures.

I'm just going to have to look you up one day. I guess you're up in the U

have been in the Caribbean for 2 weeks. The weather's not quite so good

biochemical research at the U of W) and some of his cronys, me and some
others get together for what is affecionatly referred to as "sleaze club".
We meet in the "Blue Room" of the Blue Moon tav.

Now, wait a minute, it's been awhile since I've been up to the U district,
but I thought something recently eliminated the 'Blue Moon'. If it is
still there maybe I will come by some time, if you'll jog my memory on a
thursday (or maybe I'll jog yours). What do I do run in and yell, "sleaze
club" to recognize you? I think I'd invite my friend, from Salt Lake City,
who is a Phd. in micro-biology(?) there (U-dub), I'm not sure what he's
doing right now he's been ripping apart fruit flies for their DNA most of
the time I've known him (10+ years).

Trent ol' boy, I hear your heading for better climate.
Still play Frontier occasionally but am getting bored…..still frustrated
with fighting (witch you have to do sooner or later if you want to move
on) upgraded my ship, but the kind of bucks you need for the big stuff
will take waaaaaaay long. bummer.
Just got back from a four day vacation at the Washington coast with the
little woman. Had great weather, 75 and sunny 🙂 I'm sure you can
appreciate that.
I'm trying to catch up on all the rumours and events on the C= scene.
What way cool (boy, for a 47 year old man, I sure talk funny) games have
you been into? I'm always here, lurking around. joined the astronomy
forum (hobby) and am resurecting my 10" meade scope for the summer.

Yup, Oct 1 the meister is released from my job and I head down the the
screwed up south (they actually think that winter should end in March or
April – silly people <g>). Have had a couple of offers that I am going to
look into when I go down on holidays in Aug, but I am leaving my options
open (I have made enough up here that I donot really haveto worry about
working for a few months).. I plan to go down to North Carolina and visit
some friends in that time period as well (apparently they say it is real
hot in Aug there)..

Well, picked up Black Crypt, Pools of Darkness and Beneath A Steel Sky.
Have put BASS off to the side as I am stuck and I will let it sit so my
subconscious can work on it <g>.. Mostly into Black Crypt (though I am
devoting more time on CIS to find out the latest scoops about the C=
situation as well).. I also have ordered Global Domination (on virtue of
the review in AmigaWorld)..
=I'll buy you a beer too.
