Flashing Power Light
8 messages in this thread
Help,
I'm trying to set up my old A500 and I'm getting a problem that I think is
hardware related. When I turn on the power, I get nothing except the power LED
flashing (I belive it flashes 11 times). This is not the cap light that
flashes, but rather the power LED (the one on top right below the internal
floppy drive). Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks,

I am no Amiga hardware expert, but my advice is that there is something fairly
badly wrong with your 500. Unless you know what you are doing with computers
inside, I would take it along to a repair palce and let them look at it. The
chances are whatever it is you will not be able to fix it.

Mark,
What happens on your screen, does it turn white (light grey) or stay black? Or
some other color perhaps. I had a similar problem on my 2000 and fixed it by
replacing the Agnus.

Jim,
The screen does nothing. I'm trying to hook up the Amiga to a TV thru the Mono
Out and all I get is static on the screen. Was it your power LED? How many
flashes? Did you have the v2.0 ROM installed?
Thanks again,
Mark G.
Mark,
I presume you're hooking the MONO_OUT on the Amiga to a VIDEO_IN on
your TV (and setting the TV to video input rather than it's tuner's output).
If so, you should be getting at least a clean video signal on the TV's scren.
If you are not even getting that…and with the flashing power LED…I'd guess
your power supply is shot. But it could be other things too.
Don
Thanks Don. I'll check that out.
IF NOTHING happens, it might be your power supply. Does the computer even
attempt to boot? Disk Access? The screen stays black? If it scrambles lines
in the black, I'd say your Agnus. If possible you may want to try borrowing a
power supply to see.

Thanks Jim.
