I seem to be having some problems with Cinemorph and was wondering if someone here could help…. How can I delete just a few points from a local point grouping? Selecting delete local points deletes them all! What? 40 hrs of work down the tubes? This progam doesn't seem to be getting much attention. Am I the only one that uses it? I don't get the impression it will ever be updated again… am I wrong?

Mark, You cannot delete points from CineMorph, what you delete are rows or columns. The points are references to allow you to move the mesh around. I don't have my CineMorph references handy, but if you're trying to remove some points from a local dissolve or tweening curve, the one way I can remember doing that here was to save the special curve, remove the curve for those points, then reselect the desired points and reload the curve for them. Plenty of people use CineMorph. It's far and away the most used morphing program worldwide…we keep hearing how much they love it in France even! 🙂 As for updates, there are some planned that will come with the CineMorph that is included with ImageFX. You'll read about those when the press releases on ImageFX 2.0 are posted. Hope this helps! Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

Wow… Remove ALL of the local curves (about 5 so far) and then reset them with the exeption of the two I want to remove? Hmmm… sounds like something is needed here. Thanks for the info… Here's my opinion for what it's worth: I think Cinemorph could be a powerful program if its sequence abilities were greatly enhanced. I bid on, and won a special f/x project for a local video production company. It involved morphing – sequence morphing. No problem. From what I've read of the Cinemorph program and from my intense dislike of ASDG products – Cinemorph looked like it had it all. When I purchased the program and started using it I was very dissappointed. It is FULL of bugs – features mentioned in the docs don't work and the point editing capabilities leave a lot to be desired. I have to finish the job but it will go way over the time I've alotted to spend with it to get acceptable results. I understand Cinemorph is only a hook into a $200 program where other packages on SGIs run in the thousands. I can also understand releasing the initial version of a program in Cinemorph's state. But for a second release I think it's somewhat embarrassing. If you'd like I will compile a list of bugs I've encountered and a list of simple point editing features that would be extremely useful. If you wouldn't like… I won't. I would also like to encourage you (believe it or not). I think the images that Cinemorph produces are outstanding! It's the point editing features that need to be fixed and completed. Once that's done Cinemorph really will content with the other packages. Thanks for your help and time.

Mark, Cinemorph will be updated, but it's taken a back seat to the 2.0 ImageFX and EGS-ImageFX at the moment. Unfortunately, there is no way to delete only specific point of a group at this time. What you could do is to specifc smaller groups of points or create a group of the remaining points to re-load afterwards. GVP TECH

Thanks GVP Tech, I appreciate the speedy response. Please see my comments to Kermit.

Mark, We would LOVE to see you suggestion list! Please compile this and drop it to me in email at your convienence. Please include anything you suspect is a bug as well. I have to tell you though, the reported list of bugs in the current release of CineMorph is less than a handful…the only serious one is an incompatibility with a foreign distributed PCMCIA card. If you've found something new, email it to me asap! Thanks!! Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

OK… I'll compile the list tonight and send it on. After re-reading my post I feel I might have been too harsh. Cinemorph is a cool program and I couldn't bear the thought of using Morph+ or ImageMaster's morphing thing for the upcomming job I had. I knew Cinemorph was the one. The troubles I've been having are really only in the sequence features. Would you rather I post them here or EMAIL?
