#Upgrade to WB2.0

I need to know if when Upgrading my Rev 6 Motherboard that I just got for my
2.04 Rom, I need to remove the wire on it? Please help, someone. My original
upgrade kit is in Oklahoma and I am in New Jersey!

Rodger:
If you're talking about a Rev 6 A500, I'm pretty sure you need to remove
the wire from the ROM. Otherwise you'll get a blank red screen on
power-up.

Thanks Wayne. Removing it worked.

For Rev 6 you should not have a jumPer wire on the ROM.

Tanks Vree, that was the ticket!

Hi Roger
The wire between pin 1-31 is for use with Rev 5 A500 mother boards only
any Rev6 or later you need to remove the strapping wire.

Thanks Neil! I took the chance and removed (clipped) the wire. I thought
I remembered the instructions saying that was what was needed to make it
work on a Rev. 6 Motherboard! It worked. Sometimes you just have to say,
"What the F***!"

A – With Motherboards Rev. 3 and Rev. 5, pins 1 and 31 have to be
connected by a wire. This connects A17 (Pin 1 of ROM Chip) to A17 (Pin 31
on motherboard).
B – With motherboards Rev. 6A and over, remove eventual wires from the
upper side of the chip.
