3dsr's… I'm trying to create a moving starfield, like what is seen on Star Trek etc. The IPAS stars don't move as you dolly a camera forward. They only appear to move when you pan the camera. I've tried the starfield generator in animator Pro but the effects just aren't up to what I would like. Any suggestions? The final effect will be something similar to the opening sequence in the Cosmos Series. I've got a bunch of stuff from the astronomy forum for the other objects. I'm rendering those with alpha and then doing a video post so the galaxies pass by the camera. Any suggestions would be helpful. Any other effect ideas for the sequence would also be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Try using the Rain IPAS from Yost group, and flying into the "rain" with a starfield (or 3) in the background. That should give you the effect you're lookin' for. You may have to play with the settings to give you different "speed" effects, but it shouldn't be much of a problem. –John

Thanks for the tips, I don't have that IPAS set. I've got sets 1,2, & 5, but if it turns out to be the only answer, I'm sure Gary and company will be glad to FedX it overnight.. Tom
