I am looking for a BBS program that will work with GPFax and a SupraFAX v.32bis modem. I would like the ability to receive both fax and data. Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

Joe: I'm pretty sure both Excelsior and CNet can do what you want. I've been running Excelsior on my BBS. It's still a bit buggy, but has many nice features and a high degree of configurability. Wayne

Thanks Wayne, I'll look into what you suggest. CNet was just reviewed in AW. Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

There is program called "Trap Door" which runs as a phone answering machine… so to speak. If it detects a FAX connect, it runs your fax software, if it detects DATA, it runs the BBS. I don't know where you would get it from tho… Chris – Fast and Low on my '020! "Are we having fun yet?!?" -Anonymous A1200 User

Chris, GPFax had something about Trap Door, thanks for reminding me! Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

Joe, Give CNet 3.05c a try. It is not cheap, but it does support fax/data and is VERY VERY powerful.. Trent "If in doubt, empty the magazine"

Trent, I called the company that makes CNet, he said that CNet cannot tell if the incoming signal is data or fax. He was aware of some users using CNet with a fax modem but did not know how. The AW review looked good, so I think I will go with CNet. Thanks, Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

Joe, If you have any questions on this (re fax/data recognition – the co-sysop on a BBS I run has set up a routine to recognize this – it works is all I know).. I could query him and find out exactly what he did and pass it on to you. Trent One of the "Frozen Chosen"

Trent, I just ordered CNet through my "Amiga Dealer" (support your local Amiga outlet!), and the phone company is right now installing a second line. Thank you for your offer to find out how to set up the data/fax recognition, I appreciate the information and look forward to your input. Joe Maulucci >>> Accadia Electronic Arts Buffalo, New York

Joe, Try Trapdoor. It's a program by Trapdoor Development. Their address : Trapdoor Development Maximilian Hantsch Matzleisdorfer Platz 3-4/3/10 A 1050 Vienna Austria It works with GPfax and your Supra v32bis. To register Trapdoor you pay about US$ 28 or 350 Austrian Schillings. — Ernest Otte
