"problem writing file , ok?" > I re-checked my 3ds.set for non-existant paths (none) as well as my cfig swap setting (C:) . I have enough H.D. space free (100MB) and my net has no paths/drives 'protected' from me'. I copied in a fresh 3ds.exe and 3ds.set and continue to have problems. Another thing that happens is if I try to enter 3ds.exe instead of 3ds.com I lock up instantly (even trying '3ds vibcfg). The computer is a new Micron PCI 60Mz 586. Interesting how quickly people get used to a stupid word (pentium) forced on them by a conglomerate. Anyway, whats my stupid machine up to? Thanks for your help joe

hmm… Jamie Clay has about 4 of those 60Mhz Micron boxes up at the lab, and hasn't had any problems with them running on the network with the Gateways and Compaqs. Since you're having problems with getting into 3ds.exe (compared to 3dshell.com), it sounds like a memory conflict somewhere. Do you have a frame buffer in that machine? – G
