#Animator VBX
5 messages in this thread
I am using Animator VBX to play back flic files with WAV sound files. Probably
due to heavy hard disk access, the music is playback with a lot of flutter
(sound like speaking underwater). Is there any way to eliminate or avoid this
problem? Can the music be read into the memory first before playback? My flic
files are quite large which does not make sense to play from memory. Would it
help if I play the music from MCI instead? Thanks for your help. Paul
Paul,
I have spoken to developers who said they have created a function to load a WAV
in memory, and then used the SoundDelay call to start it. I have never done it,
so I would have no advice to offer. There is nothing built into the VBX or MCI
I am aware of to load the sound file into memory, so you would have to write
that function yourself. MemoryLoad deals only with the FLIC file.

Brian, Sounds like that you are aware of the problem that I have run into. And
there are no solution besides loading the wav file into memory?! This certainly
something that I did not anticipated especially with my tight deadline that I
am working with. Any other suggestion? Thank you for your quick reply. Paul
Paul,
Sorry, I have no other suggestions, other than a quick conversioin to AVI. But
if you do find a better solution, please let us know. There are several people
that would be interested in hearing it.

Brian,
I am new to CompuServ and am not sure where to pose this question.
I am looking for a way to "animate" clip art that I have developed to use in a
Windows Screen Saver. Do you know if Autodesk Animator will do that or if
there is any other product on the market?
Thanks in advance for your help.
