Commodore actually had a decent A2000HD/P bundle several years ago, the
"P" standing for "professional." The hard drive came loaded with CrossDOS
(this before it was built into AmigaDOS) and a nice batch of Gold Disk
software, including a spreadsheet, text editor, Pagesetter II, MediaShow
(a cheap version of ShowMaker), a database program and other goodies. It
retailed for around $1500 (before the AGA machines and while the A3000 was
still fairly new) and was a decent value. I know; I bought one! Obviously,
however, this concept didn't take off. While it's conventional wisdom that
the Amiga failed to sell better for lack of "business" software, in truth
most buyers weren't interested in businessware, or at least were willing
to accept non-standard businessware. They wanted primarily to do video,
multimedia, graphics, music, games, etc.
There was also a 500 power up program that came with WP, Superbase
personal, deluxe video, and maxiplan. Now, how much good all that stuff
would do you with a 500 is debatable, but you can't say CBM didn't at
least try.

Nobody had heard of the package. Once again, mix C= and
advertising/marketing and what do you have? A Bloody footprint.
