#Need New Amiga Keyboard

Mike,
Thanks for the Northgate info. Is that the model that you have to stick
on key caps to use with an Amiga?
Thanks.

Yes, you get replacement key caps when used with Amiga plus you have to change
a dip switch on the back of the keyboard…..I'm back home now and see the
model is the OmniKey Ultra….don't know if Northgate still makes or
not….also don't know if it's compatible with anything other than the A2000.
Mike,
Thanks for the info about the OmniKey Ultra. Three questions. Do you get
decals to stick over the existing keycaps or do you actually get different
Amiga-specific keycaps to put on? Also, what makes the OmniKey better than
the CBM keyboard? What is the price?
Thanks.

To make the A= version of the Northgate keyboard, you remove the old keycaps
and replace them with Amiga legends. There are only a few that need changing.
Careful if you order the thing directly through Northgate. A friend of mine
tried, and it was on back order for months. When he cancelled his order, he
found one at a company listing in Computer Shopper for less than what Northgate
was going to charge.
