While working in Amiga Basic my computeroccasionally prints some garbled characters. The keyboard prints ok for a while and then it prints a few garbled characters. What is the problem is the CPU,Keyboard or just Static electricity.I have had my Amiga 6 months and this has just started.Any answers would be helpful.

Richard, If it has just started, and you are using the same software you were using before, I'd suspect the keyboard connector and/or the contacts. Do the keys feel "sticky"? How badly is the keyboard cable kinked at the back of the computer? Do you have any animals that would chew on the cable (like a cat)? Check that stuff out, and if you don't find anything wrong…I'd take the Amiga to a dealer's and see if it acts up there….and if they can fix it. Don

And my 2 cats once thought they should "play" with my mouse! Don

Actually, I have 2 cats too – but only one likes to get into mischief! Now if you really want wire chewing problems – get a rabbit! My "former" bunny chewed through every wire on my Atari 800 – and you know how many power packs there were for it!!!! Marlene

Marlene; I had a dog that chewed on wires when he was a puppy. I found a great solution to the problem (after repairing the wires). I put a little chinese (hot) mustard on them. He went over and started to chew then started shaking and twisting his head. He never did it again! Ken

hehe – I've heard of that solution before – I know that would do it for me if I was into wire chewing! Marlene
