#OS/2, Mitsumi, WinOS2
5 messages in this thread
I am trying to do something that is probably impossible. I want to
run Street Atlas USA under WINOS2 with a Mitsumi CDROM. I have had
success loading DOS applications using a VMB and bypassing the need
for OS/2 specific CDROM drivers for the Mitsumi, but this needs
Windows, not DOS. Any advice on how to approach this problem?
I apologize if you saw a similar message in the OS/2 Support Forum.
Try geting ahold of the OS/2 v2.1 Beta code. It has expanded driver support
for CD-ROMs.
I can tell you if your CD-ROM is supported if you tell me the model number.
How about a NEC CDR 36 attched via a trantor parallel to SCSI card to a
notebook running OS/2? Will the new OS/2 2.1 be any help?

Contact Trantor (510) 770-1400. I believe it will work, and the drivers may
already be available.

Mitsumi Electronic Corp.
CRMC-LU002 (internal)
CRS-UF1201 (external).
I have the internal model, but they have the same drivers.
I would be great if v2.1 supported my drive. I guess I would
have to load it via the diskettes rather than CD-ROM, though.
I appreciate your help.
