#A1200 SCSI/RAM+ Problem

I just bought my new GVP A1208 SCSI/RAM+ controller (for A1200) from Creative
Computers, CA. They told me that it includes the external SCSI 25 pin connector
(cable) wich you plug into port on the card. I didn't received this external
cable with my A1208. It also does not have the internal (26 pin) SCSI interface
soldered on the board as it showed on the box or in the manual. Did you have
the same problem with your A1200 SCSI/RAM+ board?? I want to use the A1208
SCSI/RAM+ mainly with an external CD-ROM and SCSI external hard disk. I am
waiting for GVP response, but if anybody else has some advice and experience
with this SCSI card just let me know. I have just plain A1200/SCSI 0K RAM NO
FPU.

I've had the same problem. I contacted GVP and told them of the situation;
they in turn have said that only weeks after its release, the external SCSI kit
was to be discontinued (as a seperate package) and included in the complete
package for future shipments. Sounds like you have one of the first production
boards to me. Just call GVP, explain the situation, and they'll more than
likely sell you the individual kit for about $45 or $50. Oh, and the external
connector connects to the 40-pin connector on the board. This was a design
problem GVP later noticed: With the terminators permanently connected to the
board, you couldn't have both an internal or external drive, so they ditched
the 25-pin connector.
