I'm in search of a device to back up my hard drive. I have an A4000/040
with the standard 120Meg IDE and an additional 250Meg IDE. The system
does not have to be fast. I just have too much HD space to be backing it
up to floppies anymore! If you have anything that will work with my
system or know of anybody who is selling what I need, please let me know.
I would like to try to keep the price below $150.

Andrew, Last year I got a Video Backup system. It hooks up to the video output
and the serial port, and uses any VCR to backup data on video tape. Not real
fast, about 3/4 Meg per minute but it works great and video tape is cheap.
Mine's not for sale. I bought mine from Manta (though I haven't noticed them
advertising lately). It cost $99. Check it out. Gary
Thanks for the info… I just might check into that!

I have a Bernoulli 20 Meg, SCSI interface, which I could sell relatively
cheaply. Think of it as 20 meg floppy drives.
I can include a 25 Pin D to 50 Pin Centronics cable, and 4 20 Meg cartridges
and 8 10 Meg cartridges and a cleaning cartridge
I am not sure how to use it as backup (Assign DF3: to the SCSI device maybe ?)
I could sell it for $75, but with COD and shipping, it would be closer to $95
E-mail reply or call (610) 531-7612 and leave voice mail if interested
(Oh yes, system does not seem to work with GVP SCSI-II compatible HD
controllers due to the built in terminator, does work with 2091, have not
tested other boards)
Do you have a PC laying around? I backup all my Amiga stuff on my PC's
QIC tapedrive, and as I just bought a higher capacity model, I could sell
my Colorado Jumbo (120) tape drive for $50.

I don't have a PC. Do I need one for the Colorado Jumbo or can I use that
on my Amiga directly?

You need a PC…
(I wish I could be a tape drive this cheap for my Amiga!)

Andrew:
I still have for sale a Tandberg 3600 tape drive. It is a SCSI drive and
uses 150meg or 250meg tapes. I was using it with my A4000 and an ICD
Advantage HD controller. It is just a bare drive as I had it mounted in
an external case with a CD Rom.
I would take $150 for it.

I may just take you up on that. Let me see what other offers I get and
I'll let you know in the next couple of days.
