I have a question for you! Have you heard ANY word on plans that
Commodore may have to do some AMIGA Advertising?
As a stock holder in CBM, it kinda upsets me that they do not advertise
this GREAT MACHINE
The Amiga has held it's own against some other computers whose company
has spent tons of money to advertise, sometimes even in Commodore
specific magazines! Yet with all the money that this 'other' company
has spent, the Amiga has OUT SOLD IT in the USA.
If Commodore Advertising put as much into the Amiga as the CBM
Enginnering section has we would have a MUCH larger installed base
of Amiga users than we already have!
Any info that you can shed on this subject would be most helpfull!

Just to add a few bits—As a biomedical researcher, I know a number of
scientists and academics using the Amiga for serious scientific applications
(astronomy, neuroscience, physiology, anatomy, etc.) and teaching. Along with
my own AI research and teaching, I have found that the Amiga is the only
(revolutionary) system currently available for convenient construction of
teaching videos (at the medical/graduate school level). I am appalled that CBM
is not advertizing the Amiga—a conspicuous absence since Apple is currently
running a campaign for engineering and scientific applications. And the Mac
doesn't even have a CSA coprocessor chassis available with math coprocessor and
peripheral expandability. Doesn't CBM want to sell this machine??? DEC has
shown how far you get by letting PC's (excuse, workstations) sell themselves.
I seem to be doing more promotion than CBM in print!
There are 3rd-party 68020 expansions for the Mac, with prices as you'd expect
(Mac is somewhat more expensive than Amiga, 68020/68881 Mac is somewhat more
expensive than 68020/68881 Amiga — around $8 or 9000). I think they also run
it at 16MHz. The machine makes it extremely difficult to run a 68020, though
— the operating system is not even vaguely designed to run on higher-end 680×0

I think the lack of advertising over the last several months can be
directly attributed to the cost cutting measures taken to get Commodore
into the black again ( CBM just announced its 3rd consecutive profitable
quarter ). You might want to voice your views in a letter to Tom Rattigan or
Frank Leonardi at….
