This is my first Forum message so please bear with me. I am a
consulting geologist and editor/publisher of THE MINING BUSINESS DIGEST a
monthly news and information service for the hard rock minerals industry. As a
consultant I have been involved primarily in the uranium business, specifically
in-situ leach mining — mostly reserve analyses and economic studies. The
DIGEST, originally modeled by the way after Lanny's MINERAL NEWS, started at 6
pages and now generally runs 32 pages. It includes Company Profiles,
Exploration & Mining News, Commodity Market News, Stockwatch, and Editorial
Comment. This isn't a commercial, but would be glad to send complimentary
copies to anyone who is interested.
My mineral collecting is both micros and cabs. Most of my collecting
is of micros in the Fairplay-Leadville-Buena Vista-Ssalida area of Colorado.
Cabs are mainly purchases. No particular specialties but I am partial to
amethyst and ore minerals.

Welcome to the forum!
My own favorite minerals are fluorescent ones; ores and amethyst do not often
fluoresce (sphalerite and scheelite excepted). Perhaps we can arrange an
ore-for-gangue trade some day. I imagine Nathan will be pleased to see another
micromounter turn up, and Jerry will wish you had appeared here sooner, before
his recent collecting trip to Colorado.
What is the snail-mail address for subscribing to Mining Business Digest? It is
not quite the focus of GEOMAG.TXT, our list of rockhound mags in this forum's
library, but it seems worthwhile to mention it in there. Please feel free to
post samples/digests in the library, as Lanny has done for Mineral News.
