I'm looking for a model of the bust portion of king tut. I don't need the entire body but am interested in the entire thing if you have allready built it. If you have a nice model with a reasonable amount of faces/vertices (25k) (medium res) I am interested in purchasing it. It will be used in a promotional piece for my client. The model has to be distinctive, ie not used in previous advertising literature etc. I will pay Viewpoint rates but it must be understood that the model becomes the property of the purchaser. Please contact me via e-mail if you have a model and rendered images to show. Feel free to send JPG images and any pricing you'd like to offer.

Byron, You might try building your own with a human head supplied on WCT, and a head piece of your own making. Shouldn't be too difficult especially as you don't need to deal with hair. I can give some help if you'd like to try.

I haven't started playing with the head on the WCT, but I was wondering how you would make the gold & blue stripes on the collar that goes around head and chin. I would guess that I need to make each stripe it's own face so I can apply each one its own color. I am sending a .gif of the two dimensional model the I have created in freehand & illustrator.

Bryon, I recieved your gif and it is helpful as a front view. >> I was wondering how you would make the gold & blue stripes on the collar that goes around the head and chin. << For the top, after you've found a suitable head, do a boolean operation with after creating a cylinder that fits the top. You will probably have to scale it on the sides looking at it from the front, so that it fits the shape of the head. Copy the cylinder before you do the boolean operation. Then with a boolean subtraction you will have a flat top section. You may have to adjust the cylinder a few times to make a clean cut. If you do adjust the cylinder in size make sure you make a copy of it. Once you have a clean cut, move the copy over the head. You could assign the blue or gold color at this point, then select only the vertices at the top of the head and the bottom of the cylinder. Just a thin band of the selected vertices. Then do an object attach. Then do a vertice weld/selected. This will weld the cylinder to the head as a band around the head. Then you can grab the top vertices after they've been selected and move them down so that the band is the width you need. I'm not sure how you want the chin to look as it is unclear in the picture. But you could do something similar in terms of the "beard guard" once it has been created. First thing to do however is find a suitable head. -JE

>>I'm looking for a model of the bust portion of king tut.<< We have a digitized version of the bust of King Tut in our model bank. Call the Rendering Plant BBS at 816 525 5614. You'll have to subscribe to the BBS to get it, the annual charge is $36 for 60 minutes of unlimited downloads. We have about 700 other models on line for you to download also. We carry everything related to 3D Studio that we can find, convert or create; and legally distribute via a BBS system.

Thanks Jim ! I will give your model bank a try. I knew that there had to be a BBS that provided a service such as this. Byron 🙂

Byron, I have not received the bid form from you yet. I think that I can help you with this. If you request it, we will not resell the object in our catalog. Please call me and we cam discuss it. It looks like you have been looking for this thing for a few months. Let's see what we can do to solve this. I would be verry willing to give you some generals. I never was able to send you the fax bid. I have a model that is about 5000 faces and I am checking with my client to see if we can work with it. I think that he is looking for a model of about 10000 faces so I would guess that I have some work left in it. I was also wondering if I understand the viewpoint catalog correctly. I have a client that wants a medium male skeleton. As I see it, I can buy just the skeleton from page #2 for $3500 or I can purchase the #4 Anatomy collection for $395 that has 14 items including a medium skeleton on page 179 of the Dataset Catalog #2. Thanks for checking up on me, and I hope that you can let me know why the collection is such a great deal?

Byron, The catalog made an error during printing on the Anatomy Collection. It is not the Skeleton M, instead it is the Skeleton L that is included in the Collection. The Collections are set up as a special promo for people using 3DS, Lightwave, Imagine, and Crystal Topas. Casey Johnson Viewpoint DataLabs
