I just took a moment to download HEAD00.JPG. Glenn, you are a god.

Glenn, Great mesh! Even more interesting than the texture map would be the image (and maybe the initial mesh) that you used to create the little guy. Any chance of uploading that too? – it would be a great tool in showing the power of DISPLACE.

I have to reply on this image again. I went showed it to a few friends that have no clue of 3D graphics. Thay could not beleive that this was created on a computer. Two thumbs up . It nice to see images like this from 3D Studio, Finally the quality of SGI on the PC. Watch out for the power of IPAS. I can't waiy to see what other crations you dream up. I'll have to say I can't wait to get disk set 6 and 7. Keep up the excelant work. Mike White [SDP]

Glenn, that head is amazing, all from a displacment map, that's all the reason I need to get the new IPAS routines. I'd love to see the map that you painted for this mesh, did you paint something that wrapped all the way around the sphere?

PMJI Andrew, but I just wanted to say that DISPLACE.PXP is really excellent. I know its going to be one of my most favorite tools. The interactivity is really terrific. Plus which it has a built in optimizer, to keep the number of faces/vertices to a minium. And you can apply mapping in the process. Great for organic modeling. -JE

Yes Andrew, I painted one flattened out head and Spherically mapped it onto a ball. The displacement map is in DL5 called HEADTEX.JPG. Glenn 4Di.

I checked out the texture map. That was really useful because I'm experimenting with photographs of faces, using painter to create the high/low spots. Thanks. Andrew.

No probs. I hope your stuff turns out better than mine because I painted it from memory. Glenn 4Di.
