Hi There ! Some more news on the Communicator etc : 1: Communicator – Full Version Eureka are currently adding some features to the included software. As I understand it they will now also be including software to allow data transfer between CD32 & a PC (!!!!!!) and also a programm which allows you to control MPEG software from the Amiga. However these amendments to the software have put the release date back. The hardware is ready but the software will take at leas 2-3 more weeks before it is completed and the CD is pressed. The Photolite Photo-CD Software is included in the package. retail Price (Germany) DM 249 (= ca. $ 150) 2: Communicator LIte – Comments regarding software as above. This version does not include the MIDI interface or keyboard pass-through. Photolite Photo-CD Software is also included. Retail Price (Germany) DM 155 (= ca.$ 95) 3: Photolite This is the Photo-CD software for Amiga CD32. It also runs with A1200/4000 with CDROM-drive. This software is already on the market. It is included with both the communicator & the communicator lite. Retail price (Germany) DM 135 (= ca. $ 80) Another big product for CD32 which has just come out on the market is : Video Creator (Almathera) This software enables you to compose a video sequence for playback with any music-CD. There are many features including titling etc. a MPEG-Modul is not needed but if you have one you can add your own video-overlays to any MPEG-CD. Retail Price (Germany) DM 99 (= ca $ 60) Finally there is talk here in Germany that MPEG modules will be delivered in the next few days. I hope that this is correct as I the market has been completly empty of MPEG modules for several weeks !! Declaration of interest : Please note that as German distributor for the Communictor, Photolite & Video Creator we have a vested interest in all the above products. However our aim here is to provide factual information for the benefit of all. Regards Richard GTI Germany

Richard, Cem has just given me Video Creator to review. My twelve-year-old son loves it. The weak points seem to be the relatively small amount that can be stored in memory, and the load/save limitation. Would the Communicator help with the later problem? Video Creator sounds a bit like a new generation equivalent of "CD Remix," a CDTV title which just alters audio CDs with sounds. In the case of "Remix," your changes could be saved to a static RAM credit card, a hard drive, a floppy or wherever. — Ron Legro / MILWAUKEE WI USA via AUTOPILOT ["Phun, phun, phun on the Infobahn…"]

Ron, It differs inasmuch as you make up graphic effects in a sequence, complete with wipes, along a time scale, tell the program which track from a music CD you want to use, and Whammo! There are around a 1000 pictures from which to choose, and if you have the FMV module, you can overlay the video with graphics as well. It is very simple to use, and great fun. Sounds like a killer app, or a near killer ap. Of course, if no one ever hears of it or sees it… — Ron Legro / MILWAUKEE WI USA via AUTOPILOT ["Phun, phun, phun on the Infobahn…"]
