#Hexadecimal

I need to edit some hexdecimal files for a MIDI drver project. Any
suggestions on a text editor that can do this?

I suspect that the use of the word "hexadecimal" is misleading; I imagine
your files are in binary and you want to EDIT them in hexadecimal.
[Hey, I could have this wrong; you might have some sort of "hexadecimal dump
as ASCII text" file that you want to edit. But I doubt it].
If I need to edit a binary file in hex form, I most often use NewZap,
something I got from the Fish series long ago. NewZap allows you to edit the
contents of a file's disk sectors. (Don't know where it might be in the
download libraries here, but I'm sure somebody will have that information).
NewZap does NOT, however, allow you to add to or delete from a file.
For more general work, I believe that some editors (say, UEdit) allow you to
work on pure binary files. But I haven't used them in this way. Personally,
I'd most likely write a little ARexx program to do whatever file rechopping was
wanted.
Suggestions, anyone?

I use FileX for editing. AZap is another good program. The AmigaDOS Join
command will ram two files together. I wrote a program that cuts segments out
of files called "Slice" I think it is on Fred Fish 939. Maybe not. If someone
wants it I can give it to you.
