HI, can anyone help? I have a friend with an A600 , and an IBM 5152 printer. The goal is to get the them to work together. I have searched in vain for a suitable driver specifically for the 5152, but perhaps there is another way…. I notice that in the A600 handbook it mentions a driver CBM_MPS1000 'can also be used with the IBM 5152 compatable printers'. Unfortunatley the printer was aquired without a book, so we do not know what other printers it can emulate. Can anybody help with a) information on the printer – what it can emulate or b) a suitable driver fot the A600 Many thanks in anticipation. -=[ T S ]=-

When all else fails, try Epson! Actually, Epson is the most common printer driver for dot matrix printers. So I would suggest trying all the epson drivers, probably EpsonX or EpsonXOld or something like that. Hope this helps…

Trevor, The CBM_MPS1000 printer driver should work with your friend's IBM 5152 printer. I used a Commodore MPS-1000 printer for years, and it emulates the IBM 5152 printer. The MPS-1000 printer driver should be on the Workbench disks under Devs/Printers. I'm not familiar with the A600, as I use an A500 running OS 2.04, but I imagine you should be able to get your hands on it, if it's not on the A600 Workbench disks. Hope this helps.
