Hi,
A friend of mine bought an accelerator card for his Amiga and I believe it's
called
DKB 1202? He tried to upgrade the card with two SIMMs of 1Meg each but hasn't
been
able to boot the card with the additional memory. I'm not certain about the
name of
the card and I'm not an Amigauser myself so I'm just forwarding his question to
you.
Please let me know if you have any experience about this card and any
suggestions
about how to make it work!

try writing to amigavendor forum and ask dkb software how he can boot his 1200
I'd suggest that he check to make sure the memory is non-parity, or Mac
compatible memory. "IBM PC" memory probably will not work due to the parity
bit it includes. Although I've never seen the accelerator board, I _think_ it
has 72-Pin SIMM slots, and I'd like to point out that I've never seen a 1MB
72-Pin SIMM, so he may also have some kind proprietary modules.

PMJI, but you can use IBM PC memory with parity bit on these accelerators. I
used one 8MB IBM Simm in my CSA 12 guage for a while before I got my 16MB Mac
Simm. The parity bit is just ignored. Chances are, he just got hold of a
proprietary Simm.

All accelerators that I know can use the IBM type SIMM's … they just ignore
the parity chip. Also, 72pin SIMM's are the most commonly avaialable 32bit
memory now.

Isn't that what came in the "stock" A4000? Four 1meg SIMMS?

Don't know, never seen a stock A4000. It could have had one 4MB SIMM.

my A4000 came with one 4meg SIMM. (it was so high I couldn't use te last
expansion slot!)

I don't believe the DKB 1202 offers support for two 1-meg SIMMs.
Due to the design, it supports:
– one 1-meg SIMM (1-meg RAM)
– one 4-meg SIMM (4-megs RAM)
– two 4-meg SIMMs (8-megs RAM)
– and a mix of one 1-meg SIMM + one 4-meg SIMM (5-megs RAM).
Try the 1-meg option using each SIMM to make sure they are good. Also, doulbe
check the jumpers, I remember that there was a typo in the manual concerning
the jumper settings for one of the configurations.
