Michael, ever hear of paragraphs? <g> BTW, glad you got your first place back!

DJ,
Just had a look at the message you are referring to. It does look dense, but I
swear it had 3 or 4 paragraphs when I uploaded it.
You mean Benetton's 2nd appeal was successful? That must please the Britts 🙂

Well, it did get David Coulthard his second place, too. But no points for the
manufacturers, only the drivers. Tomorrow's race should be interesting, with
you back on the pole next to Berger's Ferrari B)

DJ,
Just watched the race. Now that was a very ungraceful exit by Schumacher :(,
but at least I don't get now snide remarks from limeys, they love loosers<bg>

There was really no graceful exit out of that one – I felt sorry for him. That
was a nasty tumble, especially the second rebound where it almost flipped. I
think he was still in shock that it was all over when he was interviewed.
Growing up is never easy, especially in F1. Let's hope he recovers gracefully.
He's an awesome talent. I'd like to see his rivalry with Hill develop into
something intense but civil. It makes for some awesome racing <g>.

DJ,
I couldn't agree more. This season promises to be very interesting, not only
with Hill and Schumacher, but also some other serious contenders like
Coulthard, Alesi, Berger and maybe even good old Nigel :).

Your another victim of AP's loss of the "force formatting" feature.
Using older versions of AP (1.7 comes to mind) "force formatting" was done for
you by AP placing a [.] dot (or space) as the first character on each line of
type. .
This makes CIS leave that line alone (as a default,it tries to format for you)
so it displays as you originally laid it out.
New versions of AP had that 'fixed' feature removed with no way to "TOGGLE" it
back ON so we, the users are now FORCED to manually start typing in the dot [.]
or a leading blank space [ ] again or suffer the bizarre (sometimes) effects of
the loss of our message formatting! This inturns sometimes invokes slight
flames from other members about dense long paragraphs.
It would be nice to have some choice here and selectively choose to either
[SAVE] or [SAVE UNFORMATTED (by CIS editor )] (by cis ) rather than typing all
those D!*@ DOTS. An extra menu option (keyboard shortcut) and/or a gadget
would be all we need. Definitely plenty of space for another gadget in the AP
editor.
Christopher
Chris,
It still is weird, because I am aware of AP's new non-feature. The way I wrote
the message, it should have still have been formatted correctly. Anyway, since
1.80, strange things are happening all the time, but inconsistently. I wonder
if it has to do with changes to the CiS software or simply because of the fact
that over two million people are trying now simultaneously to get on the Net
via CompuServe.

I think it is the second reason. Now it's better not connecting after 19:00
Your transfer rate could fall from 1000 to 300 cps.
And your invoice rises and rises…
No comment.

Not quite as bad here in London, however the best time is here early in the
morning or after 23:00.
